TEHRAN - A spokesman for Iran’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in Parliament criticized online statements by U.S. and Israeli leaders, emphasizing that the course of the war will be decided on the ground, not through social media.

Ebrahim Rezaei made the remarks during a speech in the city of Dalaki, where he criticized U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He noted that despite Trump’s past claims of commanding the world’s largest and most powerful military, the United States is now pleading for support from other countries —support that has not materialized.

“No one is stepping in to help because they know that if they do, they will end up sharing the same grim fate as American and Israeli forces,” Rezaei said.

He added that while the U.S. once promised security to Persian Gulf countries in exchange for their resources, it now finds itself unable to protect its own embassies and military bases in the region.

Rezaei also highlighted that the enemy’s air defense systems have been "crippled", and that U.S. warships and destroyers are now staying at least 1,000 kilometers away from Iranian territorial waters, lacking the courage to come any closer.

Trump has been accused of misrepresenting the course and outcomes of his war against Iran on social media. Critics note that since the war began on February 28, he has claimed at least seven times to have completely defeated Iran—yet Iranian missiles and drones continue to target U.S. bases and Israel, and he remains unable to force open the Strait of Hormuz.
